---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OWGK's Face
Clarence in
Division Final
Showdown
Mar 3 - Ottawa
The highly
contested battle
for this year’s
EOJHL Metro
division
championship
title is now set
and ready to
begin Sunday March 6th
at 2:15pm in
Clarence.
“Last year’s
series between
our teams was
one of the most
exciting and
emotionally
draining
play-offs I’ve
ever been
involved in as a
player.” stated
Scott Cowie, now
an assistant
coach with the
Knights. “It had
everything you
want. It
went into double
overtime in game
7 until Ryan
”Clutch”
Sterling scored
a highlight
goal, giving us
the victory.
Each game was
played like a
game 7 and I’m
not expecting
anything
different this
year other than
this time, I’m
behind the bench
as a coach.”
“We are
expecting this
to be a tough
series. Our
players are
focused and
prepared to do
battle” said
assistant coach
Dan Charbonneau.
“We have watched
Clarence a great
deal this year
and there is a
reason they
finished in 1st
place.”
Charbonneau went
on to say. “Our
players are well
rested and are
excited to get
things started
we are prepared
for a tough,
long series.“
OWGK’s club
president David
Gibbons added.
“Both clubs
match up well,
with each team
having excellent
goaltending,
mobile defence,
with a great
deal of speed
and talent up
front. In all
fairness this
could be more
exciting to
watch than the
NHL play-offs.
The fans should
be the real
winners here, as
they're going to
be treated to
some fast paced,
hard hitting and
skilled hockey
over the next
two weeks.”
